1600 MASH UP!

I was inspired by a photo of a quilt at this years
‘Airing of the Quilts’
held at Venice Beach FL
I don’t know the maker so I can’t credit them,
butbthey are a member of thr SWFMQG

I had a hoarded Jelly Roll of WEEDS, by
me and My Sisters Designs, paid $22
Now look at the pricing on Etsy!

I didn’t want the red strips as
I was thinking a more scrappy feel.

I just used the black and white strips.

At the end of each strip I added
Five, 2.5 x 5” random color scrap pieces.

I added just one wonky strip of border to one side of the top!
And then the mash uo was finished

I quilted it with long organic straight lines

And this was the binding…just perfect!

Them I was off to the Topiary Park for a photo op,
The topiaries in this downtown park is
designed to depict the figures from
George’s Seurat's 1884 painting,
‘A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jeffie’
I saw the original painting in Chicago
At the Chicago Art Institute, in 2016.

Sew this was a special photo op.

I hope you like my 1600 Mash Up of the Traditional 1600” Jelly Roll quilt.
