YARN BABE!

I like to knit...but I like to sew more.
Therefore, I Might NOT be a Yarn Babe.

I did finish this cowl late 2024.

And I bought some pretty yarns for my stash.

I really liked this teal color.

And I want to make this scarf!

But first I gotbthis designated color pooling yarn
Onto the Swift to roll it into a cake or ball of yarn.

So yummy!

And look at this designated pooling yarn
In my shawl!

I wish I knitted more but as time goes on I
find sewing/quilting more fun!

2023 A YEAR IN REVIEW

2023 another year another quilt...well ok a lot of quilts and other fiber inspired projects

I finished the Churning 14 top but didn’t ' really like it.
I donated it to charity, knowing it will find a new home.

I made this Infinite Hearts quilt for me
but my Son loved it and it now lives with him!

Charley Harper Winter Birds flew into my nest!

Immediately followed by a GROVE of Charley Harper scrappy birch trees.

As spring rolled into view...
sew did these kitchen table toppers.

Ruby Star Society Picnic Quilt

I made a bunch of  bags this years.

Cute Kwilty Girls baskets for retreat.
You know I love these girls if they get
something I made using my Ghastlies Craft fabric.

A quilted pillow cover for the sofa.

I only finished one speckled Hitchhiker shawl.

 Productive year but..

I also provided lots of love and care to my sweet husband who had pneumonia with complications;
Followed by an operation to insert a shunt into his head to eliminate ‘water on the brain’ and rwo years of him falls at.  And then, right afterThanksgiving he caught COVID for the first time.

I had a health issue that is resolved but it scared the bejeebies outa me,
I am OK

A couple fun things did happen…I attended a couple Kwilty Girls retreats

Visited my son 2 times at the beach !
And had a solo quilt show that featured 14 pieces of my art
 at Inniswood Gardens, Westerville OH

I am ready to say enough of this stressful year on this day known as

HITCHHIKER AT THE BEACH

Sometimes I get so busy with life that my blog posting gets lost!
I need to keep after this albeit old fashioned, in the social media world
It’s my creative journal and I use it often to find a detail or photo about a project.
My blog will carryon and I although I have many followers on IG
I hope someone out there is still following along!

I was at the beach this past spring and I took along an easy knitting project.
The Hitchhiker Scaf by Martina Behm.

Here are the details about the yarn.
I just LOVVVVVVE the Medusa color-way

Looks a bit different when rolled into a ball and ready to knit.

April, 2023 at Ocean Isle Beach, NC

I made this cute knitting project bag and always love this view from the condo balcony.

I began knitting my scarf at the beach.
I didn’t get to stay long as my husband got pneumonia and we headed home for recovery.
He was hospitalized for 8 days!!!!

I finished the scarf at home while enjoying football games (thankfully) with my hubby!

ALL Finished!

Do you take projects on vacation?

2022 KNIT WIT

I am a lazy knitter.
I want easy projects.
You won’t ever see me knit a sweater.
I seldom wear a sweater and thrift stores
Well…that’s where I find sweaters!
I don’t mind a small challenge or a learning new stitch.
BUT if pattern makes me fume and curse..and
I can’t get my brain around the instructions..
That project may never get finished.

Like this Penrose Tile Shawl!
My friend, who knits beautiful sweaters
Said she had some trouble with it,
She tries to help me but it’s just not fun!

Maybe I could pay someone to make this for me.
I really want it. I just 2 colors and yarns in it.

I love this Hippo for Christmas yarn By LoLoDidIt
I don’t have a knitted Christmas scarf.

And I found a very easy pattern.
One I have made several times, because it is easy
And very pretty when finished.

Here’s one  I finished
Looks amazing by my succulents.

This one is headed to my September beach vacation.
I like to sit in the patio in the evening
Sip wine and knit!

And this scarf is nearing its finish
It’s a DK weight so a bit heavier than
the fingering weight used in the scarves above.

The yarn is Pennies at Sunset color
And the pattern is Touchstone.

It will be oerfect for fall and winter.
I also have an extra skein, so my friend
who crochets amazing hats, is gonna make me a hat!

That being said…I better get those needles moving!
