HALLOWEEN CUTENESS!

It's that time of year for ghosts, goblins and scary things.   

You can find them on my latest kwilt but I promise 

they WON'T scare you

LIFE'S A BEACH - SEW WHAT!

Vacation at the beach means taking these feet to the sand 

Early morning is my favorite time to walk

  passing the sand dunes

watching the sun rise slowly

In October the summer crowds have left...

As I pass these cute beach houses...

I wonder the stories could be told

"if walls could talk"

The day dream continues as I dream of  having a beach house...
WAKE UP!!!

A Halloween kwilt is in the works!

A Christmas kwilt that is a "hoot"

Sew come on, who else out there likes to travel with their sewing machine?  

I don't believe there is a 12 step program for a sewing addiction?

A CHARMING HALLOWEEN

Take a charm pack of MODA "Boo Crew" and "Monster Bash"     

Add some black charms, use the Cherry Charm pattern and

get a creepy and cut HALLOWEEN kwilt!

This 52" square kwilt was pretty quick to piece.

I used a long arm to quilt it with a fun Loop-de-loop

 A Connecting Threads Spider and Web fabric made the perfect back.

Black thread on top and back  

Love all these fun fabrics

I choose a black/white polka-dot fabric for the binding.

Rolled and listed in my Etsy shop!

Halloween has already hit my sewing room.

I raided my stash to find two Moda Charm packs 

(Boo Crew and Monster Bash)

 and cut the black setting charms  (stash bustin' again). 

You probably recgonize its the Cherry Charm Pack pattern

 It's sew "yesterday"  (big sigh)

The top and back are done...once I kwilt it

you will see it again!

A GHASTLIE KINDA DAY

Raining at the beach today with a chill in the air...

it was just ghastly.

Sew I made this top...

also just Ghastly!

is my "go to" pattern for fabric like the Ghastlies. 

Let the scene be the star!

"A Ghastlie Night" fabric came out a couple years ago.

At least this family and Sebastian, the cat,  has dinner together.

I framed all the "side lights" with the same gray print

that just screams "Ghastlies" (you can use many prints if 

you want a more scrappy look)

A pink was perfect for the inside borders

to bring out the Ghastlies rosy cheeks and flowers.

Found a fun fabric in my stash for the border!

Today the Ghastilies brought me all the sunshine I needed.

WIP - HALLOWEEN FACE-OFF KWILT

I see on-line block swaps all the time.

A couple years ago 12 excited Halloween quilters in my local guild

decided to do this Happy Halloween pattern 

by Amy Butler, as a swap.

Each of us were assigned a block, made 12 of our block

and swapped them out. 

 BUT before I go any further....I have a confession!

 My block was the "bat" and my good friend, Linda, offered to help me with mine.  

I cut them out...she stitched them on herembroidery machine.  

I made her a purse in return for the help!

Here is what "FACES" me!

Add some additional fabrics from my stash

and I'll turn this into a  Wonky Halloween "FACE - OFF" kwilt!

A fresh, modern "twist" on a traditional idea!

I finally finished quilting this in 2016!
