PLAIDISH SEWED THE DAY!

March Madness was not just about basketball!
But rather, sewing up Plaidish Quilt tops
for The Miami Valley Quilt Guild.
This was Day 2 of my Plaidish workshop.

Participants cut all the pieces at my February workshop,
And now..the  Plaidish Magic began to happen.

I had a sample of the MINI Plaidish Quilt
on display for visuals and questions
Also, great tip for getting the 567 pieces sewn together
with ease and success.

Everyone was excited to get sewing!

And they did!
I ask that 9 blocks be sewn together for a
photo opp. Participants can then see
how the magic happens.
After that they can sew to their hearts content.

Take a look!

If your group would like to be involved
in making the Plaidish magic happen or other workshops I offer …
Please reach out to me.
My Lecture / workshop tab is listed at the top of my blog.
I offer 3 different and fun lectures and
4 Modern Traditionalist style of workshops.

HOW PLAIDISH MAGIC BEGINS!

Earlier this year I was hired to teach the Plaidish Quilt
for the Miami Valley Quilt Guild.
They hired me to teach this workshop in 2 sessions,
for their February and March guild events

February, I provided a general discussion on color value.
I helped each participant look at their fabric selections
And determine the best uses of the
dark, medium and might values.
Understanding THIS is a make or break for the Plaidish Quilt!

I brought along a suitcase full of my stash scraps
Cause… why not?
People might need a piece or two…

Scrap Explosion!

And everyone loves scraps!
Especially other people’s scraps.

Lots of participants, with a new rotary blade in their cutters
and they were 'Ready to roll'  (Pun intended)

To say this workshop was a HIT, would be an understatement.
 March workshop, Part 2
is coming soon and will show just what magic happens
when the Plaidish top comes together.

KOUNTRY & KWILTY

Welcome back to Windmill Lane Craft Retreat House.
This time you get to see the Kwilty Girls projects!

Look at this STUNNNING Plaidish Quilt Top.
I think its one of the most vibrant I have ever seen.
Luccinda had pulled scraps at last years retreat
and was worried how it might turn out!

WOW!

Lucinda Miller is the maker!

This was her second Plaidish.
I love that she is using her scraps!

Lucinda felt like it wasn't as PLAID as her other one
but we all loved it just the same!!

This Asterik Quilt top was finished by
Patty Estadt.

That farmhouse has never seen such vibrant quilts!
I guarantee it!

The wind at Windmill Lane
caught Patty's hair just right....she should be
in a quilt commercial!

The next stunning dispaly of perfection
was Avalon, made by Kathy Guenther.

Kathy's hoarded collection of COMMA fabrics by Zen Chic
caused us all to PAUSE and enjoy this beauty.
We liked the quilt too!

Me, I cut a lot of pieces (567) to make the
MINI PLAIDISH

I worked in my Summer Picnic quilt.

And Plaidish 2 using OSU Buckeye colors

I didn't finish anything because I sewcialize more thank I sew.
I love being with my Kwilty Girls.
Next retreat Kim Hensley and Tami Pfeil will return!

Til next ime...CHEERS!
