HOW MANY CHARLEY HARPER BIRDS ARE ENOUGH?

If you know me, you know I love Charley Harper...everything.
CH Winter Birds were no exception.
and sew another project began.

I decided on Economy Blocks....
CH fussy cuts for centers set with GRUNGE fabrics.
I did the flimsy photo op...

well, wait to see the finish...
cause it is not what it seams!

MY HEART or NOT?

I needed a quilt for February to hang in my hallway.
I though maybe a heart quilt.

My friend Kim had made the Infinite Hearts quilt
and I kinda liked it.

She gave me lots of leftover strips from her quilt.
Then I pulled fabrics from my scraps and stash.

And the sewing began.

Lots of chain piecing...
making one side of the heart at a time.

This was all happening around Christmas
and Santa was watching over me!

He helped me pick the backing and binding.
Two hoarded prints from Amy Butler's LOVE fabric line.

And the hearts filled the design wall.

There were lots of HST left over from the blocks
and I will use them somewhere!

Stay Tuned...cause this take a turn I didn't expect.
And this quilt will hang somewhere I never dreamed!

KWILTY GIRLS WINTER RETREAT!

Where does the time fly.
I can't seem to keep up with what the heck I am doing.
I guess that's because my husband has a lot of health issues
and my focus has been on him...where it belongs.

SEW... A winter quilt retreat with my Kwilty Girls
was JUST what I needed.

Tami and Kim up to some creative goodness.

Lucinda is a maniac behind her machine...and well everywhere!

Here are a few of her weekend finishes.

Patty has many irons in the fire!

She finished two baby quilts retreat weekend
for baby showers the following weekend.

And this cut little baby square with all the feels.

 Kathy is quite the juggler.

She brought this for show n tell.
She had worked on it at Summer 2022 retreat

And she shared a top she finished with a herd of sheep!

This snowflake took most oh her weekend time.
It's amazing!

Kim is quilting this one for Kathy.
A hustle and bustle fabric line of fun!

Tami is always focused to get things done!

She made this entire top over the weekend!
I think I saw smoke over her machine!

Kim had quilted the Santa Hats.
It's Tami's pattern design.

I love these wonky geese sooooo much!
Monkey Business pattern by Abbey Lane quilts.

And this one...front view....was a Columbus Modern Quilters Challenge.

Back view is just incredible!

Kim was busy cutting and sewing HST!

for this beautiful heart quilt!

Kim also brought this HUGE log cabin to give us
demo - pool noodle basting technique
She will hand quilt this one with BIG stitches.

And now, what did I do?
THIS!
I was just sew happy to be away from home with
the girls that  I didn't care if I sewed a stitch!

Yes our wine bard was on the cutting table.
We live on the edge!

Sew I finished this one at home and brought for show n tell.

And started a table runner.

I made one Birch Tree Block

And sewed a few OSU Plaidish 2 Blocks

The weekend was just what my doctor ordered.
Time with girl friends,, lots of wine, good food
cooked by use and
we even hired a massage therapist on site.
This kind of camaraderie is always the best medicine.

We can't wait til August...when we shall sew together again!

JUST A CARD..or few

I like to recycle the front of a pretty card
that I may receive from someone,
to make a new card.

Like this beautiful tree and bird.

I can always use a Thank You card.

I made this pretty sympathy card with scraps and a tiny dragonfly!

I had lots of back and white scraps
when a bit of mustard and a swarm of bees happened.

I like to stamp my own designer paper.
These sunflowers were too fun!

How about some dragonflies to brighten your day?

Hey, I found some bee papers.

I also picked some flowers for these pretty vases,

Making cards is my second love.
Quilting is my first.

Paper On!
