BEAT TTUN!!!!

If you know anything about me...you know
I love THE Ohio State Buckeyes.
College football is my favorite
thing to watch on Saturdays.

I also enjoy making some OSU note cards.
I was lucky enough to purchase the stamp and die cuts
for them...before there were licensing issues.

Take a look at some sets I have put
together for hostess football party gifts...
or whatever screams scarlet and gray!

Lately I have enjoyed using black card bases
and Plaids for these fun cards.

I try to make various designs.

The hardest or most tedious part of making these...
cutting out 5 Buckeye leaves, 1 at a time.

Making sets with both Landscape and Portrait
designs is a good idea.

I like these note cards because even with putting
the OSU sentiments inside, one can use
them for ANY occassion!

Stamping the envelopes make the sets look great.

I haven't even touched the ribbons on any of my cards.
So that means...make more cards!

And because on November 26th, tomorrow,
THE biggest college rivalry football game happens
I have to say....very LOUDLY!!!!!
GO BUCKS! Beat Xichigan!

40 NEVER LOOKED SO SCARLET & GRAY

My son Eric, has been an Ohio State Buckeye Fan
since he was born.  OK I put him in this outfit...
which now hangs in the Buckeye Corner of our basement bar!

Because Eric lives in South Carolina...
BUCKEYE cheer gear is hard to find.
I take care of that all the time...like buying him this shirt!

Eric also loved Coach Jim Tressel
I have such great memories of us watching those games
together, when we could....and during those
10 TRESSEL YEARS of Ohio State Football
I collected tshirts for each year of glory!

I also found the "Thank You" tee made after Tressel resigned
(because he took the fall for a sad mistake)
We fondly call this exit "Tatoo-gate"

I used charcoal gray grunge to set the shirts!

The back includes 3 shirts I actually wore!
Buckeye Mama had to be part of it...right?
I used a FMQ meander, to hold it all together!

Yes this entire Murphy/Gordon family bleeds scarlet and gray!

It is an amazing quilt...and my husband (an OSU Alumni)
was very sad...it was not his!

Eric celebrated his 40th birthday this year...
and every stitch in this quilt is from Mom, with lots of love
I luv the label stitched into the border...

I took a couple shots of the quilt by the ocean
before I gave it to him.

We missed getting a photo of us together with the quilt.
but, Eric just sent me this one.

He may be 40 but he is still a kid at heart...
...the kid that has my heart!

Eric picked the fabrics for this first OSU quilt
He also designed it and Mom made it too!

BUCKEYE NATION GETS A NEWBIE

My grandson, Nique, recently graduated from High School
earning an "academic" full ride" to
The Ohio State University.

My hubby, Phil,  is an alumni and
we both LOVE The Ohio State Buckeyes
Sew, of course...I had to make Nique a Buckeye Quilt!

First quilt I quilted on my Bernina B740
Luv the 10" throat space...sew much easier to quilt!

I have been stitching text on the front of my quilts recently,
instead of a label on the back....can't take this off to easily!

The backing...an OSU sheet found at a thrift store!

All done!

Nique wrapping himself in some BUCKEYE LOVE!

Which one of these guys is happier?
Grandpa Phil or Nique?

And I am happy to have moved yet another quilt
from my heart to his!

Only about 80 days til the BUCKEYES kick off
the football season...but who is counting?

GO BUCKS!

If you know me at all you know...

 about THE Ohio State Buckeyes!
I am not just any fan...and if you scroll
thru this post you will see why!

Last nite THE Ohio State Buckeyes
showed the world just what BUCKEYE PRIDE is
They made college football history by winning
the NATIONAL playoff championship game!

Sew what?
Well I bleed scarlet and gray!
and even if you don't...
I think you will enjoy this post and
see where my BUCKEYE PRIDE lives.

CHRISTMAS QUILTS WRAP UP

I have made sew many kwilts...this year I decided
to gift them as Christmas presents for family.

"Pumpkins Gone Wild"
Gifted to my niece Melissa and her husband Robert
A fall kwilt will certainly warm their lovely home.

"Halloween at Christmas"
Gifted to my nephew Alan and his wife Jen
who celebrate their marriage on Halloween!

"Wonky Santa"
Gifted to my great niece, Gemma
(Alan and Jen's daughter)
I love this little sweet heart and hope she will
remember Aunt Kathy loved Santa too!

"TBDBILITL"
(The Best Damn Brother in law In The Land)
Gifted to my BIL, Gary, an OSU alumni
He knows how much I love the Buckeyes and
last Christmas gave me a yard each of
the licensed Ohio State fabrics
Seams only fair he should have an OSU kwilt!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!
