OLD TOWN FABRIC SHOP

"Old Town" Fabric Shop is located in Chillicothe OH
and you should make plans to visit soon!
Owners are a Mother/Daughter duo
Cindy Henderson and Kelly Henderson Battistin.

They tell me the building was an original stop
along the Erie Canal...they have updated the shop yet
this brick and mortar shop screams history,
antiques mixed with all types of quilting fabrics
INCLUDING modern fabric!

This quilt and modern fabric caught my eye immediately!
This line by Corey Yoder is called Lulu Lane
Others fabrics in this display include Corey's Prairie line
as well as other delightful prints!

I could NOT stop drooling over the selection of
GRUNGE!!!

How about some Cotton and Steel?

Need thread, zippers or buttons...right here!

And like I said a mix of antiques and modern!
this display is amazing!

Oh yes, lets not forget the Sale Area!

Lotta Jansdotter (my heart be still)
found in the sale stacks!

and most important...
my friend Andrea Aldredge works here!
She is an amazing modern quilter in her own right!

Next time you consider a road trip for great fabrics,
wonderful quilt shop staff, in a
quaint town with good restaurants and a lovely park...
Old Town Chillicothe is the place to go!

If you are shop hopping, I would be remiss not to
mention another quilt shop in Chillicothe
"Creations Sew Clever"
owned by Rita Fishel, also a good friend of mine!
Read about that shop here!

The magnificent autumn colors of Ohio
will soon fill the hills and valleys of Chillicothe!
Grab your denim jacket and infinity scarf...
Who wants to go?

SUMMER SUN SWAP

Summer is almost over butt it was such fun
participating in the Summer Sun Swap on Instagram.
My secret partner was @sboots812 Suse Boots

I searched my stash to find her favorites colors
Chose this paper pieced pattern
"Emerald Seahorse"
If you like it you can buy it here on Craftsy

Found a cute Chevron Print in my stash for the backing.

Enough for Binding and Corner Tabs

It was a challenge to paper piece as some of the pieces
were sew TINY!  The block was small as well
so I added the border to meet the swap size requirements.

The "one" extra needed to be something
that represented me or where I live
and non-sewing related.
I added some note papers from Lotta Jansdotter,
cause I love her fabric
AND a bookmark...come on...
I could never do just one extra!
Of course, I made the card too!

And my maker was Susie Boots~and this is what I received.
An adorable turtle(s) mini with a small zipper pouch
and some Maple Syrup from New Hampshire!

Thanks to @sparklestash who was the swap mama
and kept this swap organized and moving well!

I hope you have had a great summer...
if you took a vacation
...tell me where you went!

KWILTY WEDDED BLISS

I worked at Nationwide Insurance for 20 years
and Kim Kidwell was my bestie then and still.
This day...she stepped out of her technology role into
"Mother of the Bride"
and oh no, don't sit her down before the bride enters...
she walked her daughter down the isle!

Alex married Dannie Montague
and I was there will my dancing shoes on!

What a lovely couple!

Talk about a beautiful bride!

I have lots of quilts and knew that would be their gift.
But which one? After asking Kim what colors
they have in their home, she stated no specific color scheme.

So I took a chance on this double size quilt
made with Amy Butler fabric in an older pattern
called Between Friends...yes it was made some time ago
but it was in storage and never used!

I used the text function on my Bernina 740
to put the label right on the front of the quilt.

Their thank you card indicated I made the right choice!
So the next time someone asks you
"What do you do with all those quilts you make?"
The answer is...the future will decide...
