"Charm-ing Coasters"
Select
5 (5 inch) Charms (or use scraps) for each coaster
For this tutorial I am making 6 coasters
I need a total of 30, 5" squares
Select
1 charm for the bottom and
Fold
the other 4 charms in half, wrong side together (wst)
Lay the charm for bottom of coaster
RIGHT
SIDE side UP
CHARM 1 is the bottom
Charms 2, 3, 4 and 5 are next
as shown in the photos here.
Raw edges always OUT and fold always IN
CHARM 2 - (red solid) lay on the left side
CHARM 3 (pink flower) lay along the top side
CHARM 4 (pink on white flower) down the right side
CHARM 5 (pink/white stripe) along the bottom of the stack
Now tuck the left side of CHARM 5 (stripe)
under CHARM 1 (red solid)
Sew
1/4" seam around the entire edge of the square
(you may pin if needed, to avoid charms slipping)
Finished
edges..look like this
Check
all around (both sides) to make sure ALL fabrics
have
been sewn a 1/4" especially if you do not pin
Then,
turn the coaster inside out.
I
use a chop stick for poking out the corners.

Make a bunch of these to keep on hand for a quick gift!
I cut lots of my scraps into 5" squares for many projects.
