SOMETHING IS CHURNING OVER HERE!

I am not one to get all excited about what is trending in blogland.
But sometimes, as Debbie at A Quilters Table pointed out to me,
"I might trend in spite of myself"
The Nested Churn Dash (NCD) blocks kept catching my eye!
Quilt Jane over at Want It, Need It, Quilt It is hosting this

Today I was in my sewing room playing with scraps
and MY "churning" began!
I found these TYPE prints and plus scrap bin pieces.

The first Churn finishes at 4" x 4"
....really?

Second churn finishes at 8" x 8"
made it this far....keep going!

I'm felt a bit leery of HST and points
but I just took my time...
Third "Churn" finishes at 16" x 16"
Hey my points look pretty good!

Within a couple hours of cutting and sewing
while watching/listening to Robin Williams
 in "Good Morning, Vietnam"
 the churning stopped at 24" x 24"

I really enjoyed making this block and
feel good that I gave it a "trendy" try!

What is your favorite "traditional" block gone "modern"?

  8. I couldn't resist making one too. Yours looks lovely! The Churn Dash block is definitely my favourite traditional block and I love it "modernized" like in this pattern. :-)
