QUICK GIFT IDEA!

Got 10 Minutes...Let's make a Table Runner
Make this with any fabric, for any season, for any reason
(baby's room, kitchen, dining room, patio table)

Gather two coordinating fabrics.
Backing piece is 18" x WOF (42")
Top piece is 12" x WOF (42")

Lay them right sides together
and down each side using 1/4" seam allowance
You will make a tube

Turn right sides out and press
Make sure the outer edges are the same size

Now fold the piece in half lengthwise
The backing piece is on the underside.
The top piece in on the topside

Trim each end to even them up and sew a 1/2" seam on each end

Turn the corners out and press each end flat

Finish by sewing across each end with a decorative stitch,
or perhaps add some fun ric-rac

or big buttons

Want it kwilted?

Follow the directions above until the tube is made, then
Cut batting to fit the inside of the tube
TIP* use your left over strips of batting, trim to get even edges, butt the edges side by side
and zig zag them together, then cut to size.

Insert the batting, flatten it out carefully, then stitch across
one end to help eliminate any batting shifting.

Press, keep fabric (border) on each side of the center
the same size and pin it down to help keep the batting
from shifting while kwilting.

Kwilt as desired.   FMQ or use a
walking foot for some straight line kwilting.
(I attached the stitch line guide)

Trim up the ends once its all kwilted

Now finish the same way
Fold in half, sew 1/2" seam on both ends

Turn out the corners and finish!
I used buttons for this one.

LOVE, SWEETS and GIVEAWAYS!

OK this first part is a little mushy.

I love the holidays.
This month also include a special day!
Dec 4, 1999  I married Phillip Gordon
Today we celebrate Our 15 Wedding Anniversary.

I do believe our union was "fate"
The first time I met Phil...we barely talked.
We were sitting at the bar (imagine that) at a local pub
doing a crossword puzzle together.
He left...I never thought of him again.

Fast forward 6 months...same local pub
I sat down beside him..said "I don't remember your name"
and the rest is history.
We dated for 5 years and then well...

Love walked me right down the isle (a second time)
Ends up... I got it right this time and
that was the best walk I ever took.
I'm so happy to have this man loving me everyday!

BTW, we still do crossword puzzles together!
------------------------------------------------

I have heard from a few people that they
actually are trying my "Sweet Celebrations" recipes

WORLDY CHOCOLATE CHIPS

Today's "Sweet Celebration"
is the ONLY cookie my son wants to eat!

TIPS: for baking chocolate chip cookie
and minimize the cookie spreading while baking

  1. USE the CRISCO baking sticks instead of butter.  You can use any crisco product but I love the butter flavor sticks.
  2. CHILL THE DOUGH in the fridge for 15 minutes
  3. Spoon the cookies onto parchment paper covered cookie sheets
  4. Put the remaining cookie dough BACK IN THE FRIDGE - to keep it chilled
  5. Let the pans COOL COMPLETELY before putting the next batch (from the fridge) on them.
  6. If baking on two oven racks, switch the cookie sheets half way thru the baking time

2008 Cookie Party
Cookies from Around the World Theme

Each person selected a country, a cookie from that country
and dressed to represent that country

     Japan                                         Sweden                                       Carribean

If you enjoy Chocolate Chips cookies
leave me the name of your COUNTRY!
let's go "around the world"
