MY NEWEST VOLUNTEER GIG

I grew up on a farm with very little to speak of.

We were a family of 5 kids, 2 step-kids, nieces and nephews

that my Mom took under her wing.

Now that I'm an adult and have more than I'll ever need..

I love to pay it forward thru volunteering.

In 2025 I picked up a new gig at 

Nationwide Children's Hospital.

I'm a kitchen host, helping prepare food

for the people who are staying at

The Ronald McDonald House.

There are over 200 rooms available to those

whose kids are being treated at the hospital.

I choose the kitchen opportunity because

the last think any parent or guardian needs to worry about

is where are we gonna eat.

Columbus, OH RMH is the LARGEST in the WORLD.

I feel privileged I can help!

This was the first meal I helped prep.

The halls are filled with drawings the kids make.

THIS is the signed jersey by the first BJ team led by Rick Nash.

I donated it!  

I had won it in a silent auction many, many years ago.

It seemed fitting it that it should go somewhere

perhaps to raise money in a Chairty event.

OR hang on a wall, sharing it with many!

Of course there are BUCKEYE areas!

Fast forward several months from starting this adventure.

Due to my husbands health issues and my stress level…

Time and travel to and from appointments …more things need attention.

I had to let this go, for now.

I need time to care first me…or I’m no good for anyone.
