AUTUMN CHARMER

This kwilt was in the works for a couple of years!
It all began as a swap with my work guild.
I finished the top and it went into my UFO pile!

Then finally it hit the "big" machine!

Meandering softened the view.

 All done.
I find it very difficult to get a good photo of batiks!
It is sew much prettier than my photos!

Any suggestions for photographing batiks?

This is a free ePattern (in several sizes)

Why not make it modern? Try solids. Leave off the borders.
What about a baby kwilt?  Something masculine for
your favorite guy?  Team colors?

Hope you give it a try...
it's fast and easy and mine is FINALLY FINISHED!
Linking up today...Friday links on my side bar!

  3. What a wonderful quilt. Congratulations on your finish. I have no idea how to take pictures of batik quilts...for me it all depends on the day outside!

  6. Gorgeous kwilt, Kathy! Love how the meandering turned out. If you want to ask someone for advice about photographing batiks, Connie of Freemotion by the River may be that gal. She loves her batiks!

  8. Avoid direct sunlight for your photos, it's gonna create the reflection bouncing off your quilt. It will also create deeper shadows from the quilting. Slightly overcast days are great because you still get sunlight without it being too harsh. Also, if your camera has a white balance / light source setting, put it on daylight to try and get rid of that blue cast. It can still be a lot of trial and error with temperamental lighting conditions!

  9. Lovely finish, Kathy! I don't have any tips for photographing batiks. To be eligible for OctoberQuest 2 prizes, you need to include a link to the TGIFF! party in your post. When you've done that, please link up again! Thanks!
