FALL BREEZE KINDA WAS A BREEZE

This was a quilt my friend Kathy Guenther made
and I fell in love with it.
Yes, I'll make it too.

I've always wanted a vibrant fall quilt.
I love the fall colors, and I love GRUNGE fabrics.
Seemed like perfect choice for...
FALL BREEZE

I drug my feet on making this one.
I was leery of all the HST.
It took a while to cut, bag and label all the
pieces and then it SAT for about a year.

I like to use a KEY card to label my fabrics
and make sure my colors will fit nicely into
the layout of the pattern colors
Just change color names as needed.
And here I sewed the stems my way, I didn't like
the way the pattern directions said to make them?

The pattern needed 12 large maple leaves.

I made them with my 5 vibrant GRUNGE color choices
on the light gray background.

There are 28 small leaves.
Gotta say...this pile of leaves is
looking very good!

I selected a light gray for the background.

All blocks made and
the top was laid out on the design wall.
and sewn!

Ta-DAH!

    Such a pretty finished top.

So off to Kim Hensley for the Longarm Quilting.
We selected an E2E design Bubble Glitter
showed up beautifully on the backing
and all the neutral space on the top.

Binding was same background fabric.
I wanted the leaves to float.
Cause when leaves fall in the breeze...
They float.

I am thrilled with this beauty!

And the hubby here with his obligatory photo
seems to like it too!

I don't know why I was so worried...it kinda was a breeze!
