GHASTLIES WIP!

I am a hoarder of "Ghastlies" fabrics by Alexander Henry.

I made a kwilt in 2011, but during a work club fair,
much to my surprise, 3 people approached me
to ask if it was for sale and a bidding war ensued.

The lady who bought it said it reminded her of
Author and Illustrator Edward Gorey
Just look at his book illustration for
The Gashlycrumb Tinies
and you will see the similarities

Although I loved this kiwlt..I let it go
and continued to buy more Ghastlies fabric.

Sew this past weekend ...a Ghastlie Marathon began.
I want to get some things made for my Etsy shop.

This gray and pink fabric was from HA's first line.
I still need to add the outside border, which will be
the dame fabrics as the block sashings.
Pattern designed by Kari Nichols of Mountainpeek Creations.

This block is my favorite
"Ghastlie little girl".
I wondered where my hammer went!!!

Then I designed my own top using a center focus pieces
and with squares all around it.  I used the first collection
and "A Ghastlies Night" in this one.
A black binding will finish this off perfectly.

I still have lots more Ghastly fabric just waiting from me
to create some fun purses, a sewing machine cover, more kwilts!

like this

and this moldy green

I love me some of that Ghastlies Holiday fabric in BLOOD RED!

and the smoke gray "Ghastly Web"

What have you made using "Ghastlies fabric"?

As for me...I'm headed out to the LQS to get more!

Linking up over at Freshly Pieced WIP Wednesday.

  2. I still have a piece of Ghastlies fabric in my stash, too. I love what you've done with it. I didn't know there was a Christmas print out. I think that would be a good one to have in my stash!

  4. Wow, that's some serious hoarding. You're right, time to make some stuff for your etsy shop. Your quilt design is a great way to show-case your fabric.

  11. Love your quilt!
I've been hoarding Ghastlies prints since the first collection and haven't cut into them yet. I'm waiting for the right time when I have a lull in projects and can fully focus on making something awesome for myself.

  12. I LOVE the Ghastlies too. I have the cat one and used it as an inside block and then surrounded it with a dog print. I really enjoyed using it.
