JANUARY GOALS - SCRAP BUSTIN & TUTORIAL

As part of my 2014 goals to bust my stash and
no fabric purchases,
I am using up scraps each month!

Today I'm sharing my JANUARY Scrappy fun!
and an unexpected tutorial

You all know how much I luvvvvvvv
Zen Chic's COMMA fabric.

How bout a Thread Catcher?
I used a couple different designs from some patterns I have
and added my own spin to them to include a holder
for scissors, seam ripper and ruler.

I have lots of it and lots of  COMMA scraps,
sew I made a fabric journal cover!

  5. thank you for the tutorial, I have to buy some fabric today for 2 quilts but promise will not buy any extra, have pulled out of my stash what I can use but need 4 metres of a contrast to make the quilt and 2.75 metres for the background for hexie BOM

  7. Oh I am "sew" with you Kathy! I made myself a goal/resolution to NOT buy fabric this year either. I didn't buy much last year, except for flannel to make my grandson some jammies. I love using scraps too. So this is the year to use as much as I can. Of course i cannot help it if I win a giveaway of fabric or receive a gift wrapped in fabric, but I am NOT buying any fabric! I'll be checking in with you throughout the year to see if you are still on track. You better keep me in line too, lol!!!

  18. Great job on your goals! I'm trying to avoid buying fabric unless I need it for a specific project and I'm finding that I don't have a stash that can support making full sized quilts without supplements. It's certainly making me think about how I buy fabric. Cute journal cover!
