A SNEAK PEAK and NO BULL!

My friend, Patti at A Yankee in Queen Liz's Court

has joined me in reaching some goals for 2014.

We are "busting our stash" for new projects

and "not buying fabric" until our birthdays.

Patti's is April 30th and mine is May 1st.

That makes our Zodiac sign Taurus the Bull.

I did a little research about our zodiac "traits"

and this is NO BULL

Those born under this sign are happy to stick with their projects

until they have reached a successful conclusion.

(our birthdays)

We want to get things done, and it's that steady,

dogged persistence that winds up being viewed as stubbornness.

(aka bull headed)

The good news for Bulls is that once they

get to the finish line (our birthdays),

they'll swaddle themselves in

material goods (fabric).

A self-indulgent beast?

Perhaps, but if you toiled as laboriously

as these folks do (using up stash)

you'd need some goodies (new fabric), too.

WINTER'S LANE 2013

Winter's Lane (Moda) ran thru my kitchen this holiday season.

In the form of a table topper and table runner.

I had a charm pack of Winter's Lane

but pulled out the blues for my kitchen colors.

Straight line kwilting boxing each block

Close up - varying widths between the straight lines.

Creamy White Backing

really shows off the kwilting

Table runner has simple straight line kwilting.

Binding for both is brown

Close up of kwilting - Bernina walking foot does the trick.

Creamy white backing again.

Sized to fit my kitchen island

The red birds and trees on the fabric

is perfect with my red bird winter theme

in the kitchen

But because it is "wintry"

Winter's Lane will be open til spring.

SUNDAY STASH AND A PROMISE

I have stash...stash you haven't seen.
I also made a promise to myself,
NOT to buy any new fabric til my birthday, May 1st, 2014.

Patti @ "A Yankee in Queen Liz's Court"
is my blog buddie from across the pond.
She has jumped on the wagon with me!

And sew it begins...

A couple years ago The Fabric Shack had their
annual tent sale and I bought all these lucious

FQs for $1.00 each (yup...the tent sale is incredible)

Maria Kalinowski Canvas for Bernatex,

And I also found this black and white stripe

hiding in my stash that will be the binding.

Will use the Turning 20 pattern

and takes only 3 or 4 hours to do the top
Great stash busting pattern as it uses 20 FQs.

Beginning in January, I have a project kitted for each month

WHAT'S UP MY STASH?

I am up to my eyeballs in stash! ! !

So beginning January 1st
I am going to try and NOT buy any fabric til
my birthday, May 1st.

I will become a stitchin' bitchin' maniac.
My arms will ache as I try to keep my car
from turning into LQS parking lots.
Beads of perspiration will trickle down my face
at my guild show and tells.
Heart palpitations will happen when I see on-line
fabric store emails in my inbox!

Sew here's where it begins...January 1st
I have pulled fabrics from my stash to make
at least one project each month.
